Last updated: March 25, 2026
MARTINS Kévin ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Forj mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the App.
By using Forj, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
Forj stores all your personal content exclusively on your device. This includes:
- Task titles, descriptions, estimated durations, and deadlines
- Goals and their associated subtasks
- Location preferences (labels such as "home" or "office", or GPS coordinates)
- Recurring task configurations
- Notification preferences and scheduling settings
- Appearance and app configuration settings
- Streak and engagement data
We do not have access to this data. It is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. This data is not backed up by us — it relies on your device's own backup mechanisms (e.g., iCloud backup).
1.2 Anonymous Analytics Data
We collect anonymous usage data to understand how the App is used and to improve it. This data is collected through PostHog, a third-party analytics service, and includes:
- A randomly generated anonymous identifier (not linked to your identity)
- App events: app opened, tasks created/completed/deferred/deleted, goals created/completed/deleted, day validated, onboarding progress, paywall views, notification interactions
- Aggregate counts: total task count, streak days
- Subscription status (premium or free)
- Error reports (type and source, without personal content)
We do NOT collect: task titles, descriptions, goal names, location data, or any content you enter into the App.
1.3 Purchase and Subscription Data
If you subscribe to Forj Premium, purchase and subscription management is handled by RevenueCat on our behalf. RevenueCat may collect:
- Device identifiers
- Purchase and subscription status
- Transaction history
This data is processed in accordance with RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
1.4 Information We Do NOT Collect
- Name, email address, or contact information
- Photos, files, or media
- Contacts or address book data
- Browsing history
- Precise location data (GPS coordinates you set for tasks remain on your device)
- Health, fitness, or biometric data
2. How We Use Information
We use the anonymous analytics data we collect to:
- Understand which features are most used and improve the App experience
- Identify and fix bugs and errors
- Monitor subscription and trial performance
- Make informed decisions about future features
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with the following third-party services:
| Service | Purpose | Data Shared |
|---|---|---|
| Apple App Store | Distribution, payments | Purchase transactions (managed by Apple) |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management | Device identifiers, purchase status |
| PostHog | Anonymous analytics | Anonymous usage events, no personal content |
Each service operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them:
4. Data Retention
- Local data: Remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
- Analytics data: Retained by PostHog in accordance with their data retention policies. Since data is anonymous, it cannot be linked back to you.
- Purchase data: Retained by RevenueCat and Apple as required for transaction records.
5. Data Security
Since your personal content is stored locally on your device, its security depends on your device's own security measures (passcode, Face ID, etc.). We recommend:
- Keeping your device software up to date
- Using a strong device passcode
- Enabling device encryption
- Maintaining regular backups
Analytics data transmitted to PostHog is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
6. Children's Privacy
Forj is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since the App does not require account creation and does not collect personal information, the risk is minimal. If you believe a child under 13 is using the App inappropriately, please contact us.
7. Your Rights
7.1 All Users
- Delete local data: You can delete any task, goal, or data within the App, or uninstall the App to remove all local data.
- Control notifications: You can enable or disable notifications at any time in your device settings or within the App.
7.2 European Users (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights including:
- Right of access: You may request information about the data we process about you. Since analytics data is anonymous, we cannot identify your specific records.
- Right to erasure: Your local data can be deleted by you at any time. Anonymous analytics data cannot be attributed to you for deletion.
- Right to object: You may object to analytics data collection by contacting us.
- Data portability: Your local data is stored on your device and accessible to you.
The legal basis for processing anonymous analytics data is our legitimate interest in improving the App (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
7.3 California Users (CCPA)
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- The anonymous analytics data we collect does not constitute "personal information" under CCPA as it cannot identify you.
8. International Data Transfers
Anonymous analytics data may be processed by PostHog in servers located outside your country of residence. PostHog implements appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
